I never would have seen the humor in this before having a kid.
A snowy day
Reading to your kids is one of the many things you miss as they get older. You don’t really want them back at that age—they worked hard and deserve to be age they are—but a time machine that works for just a few minutes every evening wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.
My kid is not yet reading age, but I already understand this quote. I’m looking forward to reading to my boy.
A non-HDR today. This little girl is posing for a photo at Shichi-go-san (literally 7-5-3), something of a rite of passage festival. Boys aged 3 and 5, and girls aged 3 and 7 dress in kimono and visit a nearby shrine for this event which is traditionally on or near Nov 15th, though the date isn’t that important—depending on the weather and their schedules people might do it on any nearby weekend.
It’s a very colorful event and always lots of fun watching all the kids. This girl here is working on her serious pose. She tried several, with plenty of encouragement & advice from mom.
Some kind of new game?
